WAYS TO VOLUNTEER

Typically, applications are only accepted once a year in November - December. The process is as follows: you will complete an application and submit with a $25 fee. The Sheriff's office will conduct a background check, and if selected for an interview  you will be contacted in January or February. If accepted, you will be granted probationary membership and be required to attend specific training. More information to be provided once applications are being accepted.

We are not currently accepting applications

Maybe.  On one hand, we do not push people outside their respective comfort zones and encourage them to be cross-trained in and comfortable in most situations they encounter, but we simply cannot control all circumstances that influence a mission.

If I join SAR, will I be required to perform unpleasant tasks like recoveries or lengthy missions?

I work a full-time job, can I still volunteer?

Yes, most members work full-time day jobs and respond to calls as they are able.  A good percentage of calls occur during the evenings and weekends anyway.
